PRF, Platelet Rich Fibrin in Mexico City

It is the evolution of PRP: it forms a natural mesh that releases growth factors over weeks, not all at once.

What it is and how it works

PRF is also obtained from your own blood, but it is processed without anticoagulant and at lower speed. That allows a fibrin mesh to form, a natural structure that traps platelets and growth factors and releases them slowly and steadily over days or weeks. The difference from PRP is timing: instead of a single burst of repair signals, your tissue receives a prolonged, more physiological stimulus.

What it treats, in detail

Who it’s for

anyone seeking regeneration with their own blood, with nothing synthetic, who prefers a sustained stimulus. A very good option for under-eyes and for sensitive skin, because it contains no additives.

Who it’s not for

it is not suitable with coagulation or platelet disorders, active infection, certain blood or oncologic diseases, or with anticoagulants. In pregnancy we assess it separately.

What to expect

  1. 01

it is done in a series, like PRP, usually several sessions weeks apart with maintenance.

  2. 02

It includes the blood draw and application by injection or microneedling, with topical anesthesia.

  3. 03

Low discomfort, and at most one or two days of redness or some bruising.

Risks and what we tell you honestly

being your own blood and without additives, the risk is minimal. Honestly: PRF is a reasonable evolution of PRP and its sustained-release mechanism is well grounded, but it shares with PRP the lack of standardized protocols and does not yet have such robust independent evidence of its own. It is safe and useful, not miraculous. At Aryx we have several technologies that overlap and are complementary; in your consultation we define which suits you best or whether combining them is better.

Myth vs reality

Myth

“PRP and PRF are exactly the same.”

Reality

both come from your blood, but PRF is processed without anticoagulant and forms a mesh that releases growth factors for longer. That makes it preferable in certain cases, such as under-eyes or when we want a more prolonged stimulus, and in the consultation we tell you which suits you.

Book your consultation and we will define whether PRP or PRF is better for your case.
