Breast Augmentation in Mexico City
In a meta-analysis of more than 18,000 patients, satisfaction with breasts rose from 26 to 73 points out of 100, and psychosocial well-being from 37 to 75.
What it is and how it works
an implant adds volume, but what defines your final breast shape is not the implant, it is your own tissue: the width of your chest, the thickness of the skin covering it, and the position of your fold. That is why two patients with the same implant get different results, and why the implant is chosen by your measurements, not by a cup size.
What it treats, in detail
- Increasing volume when the breast is naturally small.
- Restoring volume lost after pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight changes.
- Correcting asymmetry between sides.
- Improving projection and upper pole shape.
How we do it here
this is the part that matters most to us, because in breast surgery your taste weighs as much as your anatomy. Two patients with the same chest can want opposite results, and neither is wrong. That is why we do not choose the implant for you: you choose it, guided by us. We use four tools together. First, the reference photos you bring, because they tell us what aesthetic you want in your own words rather than in medical terms. Second, 3D simulation with Divina on your own body, which measures each breast’s volume in cubic centimeters and simulates the result by modeling how your tissue behaves, considering your skin elasticity and muscle volume, not simply overlaying an implant on a photo. Third, external sizers, so you see and feel the volume in your own clothes and not only on a screen. And fourth, photographs of results from patients with anatomy similar to yours. Our role is to define the range your anatomy tolerates safely and with a good long-term result, explain the consequences of each option, and warn you when a choice will not please you. Within that range, you decide. We also use minimal-incision technique when the case allows, and we document everything with IntelliStudio standardized clinical photography so your before and after can be compared objectively.
Who it’s for
if your breasts are naturally small, if you lost volume after pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you want more projection, and your nipple is in good position. Stable weight and expectations proportionate to your anatomy.
Who it’s not for
we do not operate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection, or with an unresolved breast imaging finding. And something we will tell you directly: if your breasts have already descended, an implant does not lift them. Placing one anyway gives you a larger breast that is just as low, and worse over time. In that case you need a lift, with or without an implant.
What to expect
- 01
general anesthesia with a regional block to control pain, outpatient surgery lasting an hour and a half, and no drains.
- 02
You will wear a postoperative bra day and night for the first month, and the second month at night only.
- 03
From day one we will ask you to do light walking and slow, controlled breast movement, because moving early helps.
- 04
And something that sets us apart: in all our breast surgeries we include a rapid recovery protocol with 5 hyperbaric chamber sessions and 5 individualized dermatofunctional physiotherapy sessions, because recovery is treated, not simply waited out.
- 05
The breast settles over 3 to 6 months: the shape at one month is not the final shape.
- 06
You can drive at 3 days and resume exercise between 6 and 8 weeks, because there is an implant.
Risks and what we tell you honestly
common effects are bruising, swelling and temporary changes in nipple sensation. Implant-specific risks are capsular contracture, descent or malposition, rippling and animation deformity. And there are two things you should know before deciding. First, implants are not lifetime devices: at some point a replacement may be needed, and we plan for that with you now, not in ten years. Second, there are uncommon entities associated with implants, such as BIA-ALCL lymphoma, which we explain in consultation and which form part of your informed consent.
Beyond aesthetics
the documented benefit of this surgery is psychosocial, and it is measured with validated instruments, not impressions. In a meta-analysis of 39 studies and 18,322 patients, satisfaction with breasts rose from 26.3 to 72.7 out of 100, psychosocial well-being from 37.2 to 75.0 and sexual well-being from 31.1 to 70.6, all at very high significance. An interesting nuance from the same study: physical and sexual well-being keep increasing in the long term, while psychosocial well-being peaks in the first months. And we tell you the rest too: physical well-being improved by only 6.97 points, without statistical significance. In other words, this surgery changes how you feel about yourself, not how your body functions.
Myth vs reality
Myth
“The surgeon decides which implant suits you.”
Reality
no. We define the range your anatomy tolerates safely, and within that range you decide, with simulation on your own body, sizers and comparable cases. The most common fear is not the surgery, it is waking up with a breast you did not ask for. That is why we work this way.
