Breast Revision Surgery in Mexico City
If your result did not turn out as expected, it can be addressed. And we are not here to judge what happened.
What it is and how it works
we correct the result of a previous breast surgery, performed elsewhere, when a complication, a deformity or simply a result that does not match what you were told has remained. There is something worth understanding that will reassure you: secondary surgery is technically more demanding than the first, but not because of anyone’s fault. There is scar tissue that changes the planes, the capsule altered the pocket, the skin may be thinned or overstretched, and landmarks such as the fold may have been lost. Correcting means rebuilding the container, not just changing the content.
What it treats, in detail
- Capsular contracture, with firmness, deformity or pain.
- An implant that dropped, moved laterally or is malpositioned.
- Double bubble, that crease across the breast.
- Rippling and visible or palpable edges.
- Animation deformity when flexing the chest.
- Asymmetry remaining after the previous surgery.
- Widened, painful or poorly placed scars.
- A size or shape that was not what you asked for.
- Implant rupture.
How we do it here
each problem has a specific solution, which is why the first step is identifying exactly which one is yours. If the implant dropped, the pocket is repaired with sutures. If the lower pole is weak, it is reinforced with a matrix. If there is animation deformity, the plane is changed. If there is rippling, we switch to a more cohesive gel, gain coverage, or graft fat into the transitions. We reconstruct your surgical history, request imaging when needed, and assess the real thickness of your coverage and the quality of your skin, because that defines what is possible today. We document your starting point with standardized clinical photography so you can see the change objectively.
Who it’s for
if you have any of those situations, or if you are simply unhappy with your result and want a serious second opinion.
Who it’s not for
we do not operate with active infection, with unresolved breast imaging, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If your previous surgery is recent, we will need to wait for it to mature. And if you smoke, the risk is higher because the tissue is already compromised.
What to expect
- 01
general anesthesia, with highly variable time and recovery depending on the extent of the correction.
- 02
A minor adjustment recovers quickly; a full capsulectomy with pocket repair and a lift has a recovery comparable to or longer than a complex primary surgery.
- 03
Drains may be required.
Risks and what we tell you honestly
revision surgery carries more risk than primary surgery, because the tissue has already been operated on. Contracture and malposition can recur even with correct technique. Your starting point sets the ceiling of what can be achieved: available tissue, coverage thickness and skin quality. Some cases require two or more stages, and proposing that is not a lack of ability, it is the safe way to solve them. And there are cases where the best recommendation is to remove the implants and not replace them; if that is yours, we will tell you.
Beyond aesthetics
in the literature, the three main reasons for a revision are poor aesthetic result, capsular contracture and pain. So it is not always about appearance: many patients arrive with real physical discomfort. And there is something else we see often: they arrive with mistrust and emotional fatigue after a bad experience. Resolving that matters as much as resolving the shape.
Myth vs reality
Myth
“If it turned out badly, it is because the surgeon was bad.”
Reality
sometimes yes and sometimes no. There are complications that occur despite correct technique, such as capsular contracture, and results that deteriorate with years, weight or pregnancy. We do not evaluate the history, we evaluate your case: what is there now, what is correctable and what is not. That is the only thing that changes your result.
