Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in Mexico City
Breathing pure oxygen under pressure changes what your body can repair. And there is published evidence on sleep, mood, athletic recovery and cellular aging.
What it is and how it works
inside the chamber you breathe oxygen at higher-than-normal pressure. This makes your blood dissolve and carry far more oxygen than usual, delivering it even to tissues with poor blood supply. That extra oxygen activates new vessel formation, collagen production, stem cell mobilization and regulation of inflammation. The concept explaining its regenerative effects is called the hyperoxic-hypoxic paradox: repeated swings between high and normal oxygen activate the same repair pathways that oxygen deprivation would, but without its damage.
What it treats, in detail
Established medical indications
Complex wound healing, diabetic foot, radiation injury, carbon monoxide poisoning, severe infections, compromised grafts and flaps, and sudden hearing loss. The international hyperbaric medicine society recognizes 14 evidence-based indications.
- Recovery after surgery.
Sleep
Sleep quality and insomnia.
Mood
Symptoms of anxiety, depression and somatization.
- Athletic recovery and performance.
- Cellular aging and cognitive function in older adults.
How we do it here
there is a technical detail that changes everything and that you should know. The studies supporting hyperbaric oxygen therapy use close to 100% oxygen delivered by mask, at 2 atmospheres. Our device delivers oxygen exactly that way, by mask, not by nasal cannula. That difference matters because the oxygen fraction you actually breathe is what determines the effect, and it is what allows us to discuss this evidence seriously with you. The other point is the protocol: the published results come from long series, 40 to 60 daily sessions in most studies, and 10 days in the insomnia trial. We design your protocol according to your goal and tell you clearly how many sessions are needed to expect an effect.
Who it’s for
post-surgical recovery, slow-healing wounds, athletes seeking recovery and performance, people with sleep problems or mood symptoms who want a complementary option, and those pursuing a preventive longevity approach.
Who it’s not for
there is one absolute contraindication, untreated pneumothorax. We carefully assess severe obstructive lung disease, recent chest or ear surgery, ear or sinus problems, claustrophobia, uncontrolled epilepsy and pregnancy.
What to expect
- 01
the session is comfortable, inside the chamber and with a mask.
- 02
The only thing you will feel is ear pressure during compression and decompression, like a plane taking off or landing, managed with simple maneuvers we teach you.
- 03
No downtime: you leave and go on with your day.
- 04
Sessions last about an hour and are done in a series.
Risks and what we tell you honestly
the most frequent issue is ear discomfort from pressure. There can be sinus discomfort and, with very prolonged protocols, a transient myopia that reverses. Oxygen toxicity is rare and prevented with correct times and pressures. Now, the important part: the improvements described below come from long protocols, not from one or two sessions. Sharing those results without telling you that would be misleading. And much of the research in longevity and neuropsychiatric symptoms comes from a single research group in Israel, which we want you to know when reading the figures.
Beyond aesthetics
this is the part we most want to get right, because it is where the evidence lies.
Myth vs reality
Myth
“The hyperbaric chamber works for everything and you feel it after one session.”
Reality
no. It has well-established medical indications and promising areas with good evidence, such as sleep, mood, athletic recovery and cellular aging. But those results come from protocols of 40 to 60 sessions in most studies, not from a single session. And there remain areas of uncertainty we prefer to name rather than hide from you. What we do guarantee is that your protocol is designed with a clear goal and with oxygen delivered the way the studies do it.
