Mole Mapping in Mexico City
Full-body photography in under two minutes, to monitor your moles precisely and detect changes in time.
What it is
it is an imaging study that photographs your entire body with medical quality and creates a map of your moles. We use Canfield’s IntelliStudio system, with a high-resolution camera, standardized lighting and a motorized lift that reproduces exactly the same position and the same light at every visit. That repeatability is what matters: it allows us to compare your photos over time and see whether a mole changed in size, shape or color. Each mole is recorded and numbered on your body map, and when needed we take a close-up dermoscopy image that is linked to that same mole.
What it treats, in detail
- Mapping and surveillance of moles and pigmented lesions.
- Early detection of changes, which is key in skin cancer, especially melanoma.
- Follow-up of patients with many moles or with family history.
- Baseline record before starting treatments, for later comparison.
- Standardized clinical documentation of your skin over time.
Who it’s for
anyone with many moles, personal or family history of skin cancer, moles that have changed, very fair skin or a history of sunburns, and in general anyone who wants serious surveillance of their skin.
What it is NOT
mapping does not diagnose on its own. It is a surveillance tool that the dermatologist interprets; if a lesion appears suspicious, it is assessed and, if appropriate, biopsied.
What to expect
- 01
the full-body capture takes under two minutes and is comfortable, in a private space.
- 02
Then the dermatologist reviews the map and close-up images with you.
- 03
Ideally it is repeated periodically, according to your risk level, because the real value lies in comparing visits.
Our commitment
this is a health tool, not an aesthetic one, and we treat it as such. It is a dermatologic surveillance study with its own cost, repeated periodically according to your risk level, because its value lies precisely in comparison between visits. It also backs a protocol we do not negotiate: before treating any spot or lesion with laser, we examine it to rule out anything that requires different management.
Myth vs reality
Myth
“If a mole does not hurt or bother me, it is fine.”
Reality
melanoma almost never hurts. What matters is change: growth, or a change in color, shape or borders. That is why mapping is so valuable, because it compares your own photos over time and detects changes the naked eye misses.
