PRP Hair Treatment in Mexico City

In clinical trials, PRP increased hair density versus placebo, and it is one of the best-evidenced treatments for pattern hair loss.

What it is and how it works

we take a small sample of your blood and centrifuge it to concentrate the platelets, which release growth factors. We inject that concentrate into your scalp, where it stimulates circulation around the follicle, prolongs its growth phase and slows miniaturization, the process by which hair becomes thinner and thinner until it disappears. Because it is your own blood, the risk of allergy or rejection is minimal.

What it treats, in detail

Who it’s for

men and women with early to moderate loss, where there is still a living follicle to rescue. That is where it works best.

Who it’s not for

it is not suitable if you have coagulation or platelet disorders, active scalp infection, certain blood or oncologic diseases, or if you take anticoagulants.

What to expect

  1. 01

we usually do a series of 3 to 4 monthly sessions, then maintenance every 3 to 6 months.

  2. 02

Each session includes the blood draw, centrifugation and application into the scalp, with topical anesthesia.

  3. 03

Discomfort is low and there is no downtime; at most tenderness for a few hours.

  4. 04

Results are assessed over months, not immediately.

Risks and what we tell you honestly

being autologous, the risk is minimal. And we tell you plainly: PRP is not miraculous. Its big weakness is that there is no standardized protocol, so results vary with how it is prepared, and it works better combined with medical treatment such as minoxidil. It does not reverse advanced baldness or replace a transplant.

Myth vs reality

Myth

“PRP will grow hair where I am already bald.”

Reality

no. PRP rescues and strengthens the follicle that still exists, which is why it works in early stages. Where the follicle has already died, a new one does not appear; there the solution is a hair transplant, and we will tell you directly in your consultation.
