Fractional CO2 Laser in Mexico City

It is one of the most powerful tools that exist for acne scars and texture, with measurable improvement on clinical scales.

What it is and how it works

the fractional CO2 laser creates tiny microscopic columns of renewal in the skin, leaving islands of healthy skin between them so it heals quickly. That controlled stimulus makes the skin produce new collagen and resurface itself. It is an ablative laser, meaning it does remove tissue; that is why it is so effective and why it has a real recovery, it is not a “weekend” treatment.

What it treats, in detail

Who it’s for

anyone with scars or texture damage that does not respond to gentle treatments, and who accepts a few days of recovery in exchange for a powerful result in fewer sessions.

Who it’s not for

we tell you plainly, on darker skin CO2 carries a higher risk of leaving marks, so there we go conservative or choose another option, such as microneedling. Also not if you recently used isotretinoin, if there is active herpes (we give preventive antivirals), keloid tendency, pregnancy or recent tan.

What to expect

  1. 01

for rejuvenation one strong session is sometimes enough; for scars we usually do a series of around 4 sessions every 6 weeks.

  2. 02

Recovery is real: redness and peeling for 3 to 5 days if superficial, and up to a week or more if we go deep.

  3. 03

    Strict sun care and moisturizing.

Risks and what we tell you honestly

there is real downtime, and on darker skin there is a risk of hyperpigmentation, which is why preparation matters. An honest nuance: studies show fractional CO2 is not necessarily superior to other non-ablative fractional lasers, and often performs better combined with other techniques. It is not the only path, it is a powerful tool used well. At Aryx we have several technologies that overlap and are complementary; in your consultation we define which suits you best or whether combining them is better.

Myth vs reality

Myth

“CO2 laser is so aggressive it leaves scars.”

Reality

properly indicated and with the right settings, it is safe. The downtime is real but controlled, and scarring is rare and almost always from misuse or poor aftercare. On darker skin we adjust or switch techniques precisely to avoid marks.
